CASE DESCRIPTION The primary subject matter of this case concerns how organizational culture and climate impact new leaders in an organization, particularly in an educational institution. Secondary issues examined include how new leaders should implement change initiatives, communication barriers to new programs, and a focus on the role of perception and dialogue. The case has a difficulty level of three, appropriate for third year, undergraduate students in management, communication, or education. The case is designed for an organizational communication, organizational behavior, introductory management, leadership, or education administration course. It can be covered in one class hour and is expected to require one hour or less outside preparation time by students.
